of MY discontent.
Winter has us in its grip and it has been cold, snow in the mountains and chilly here.
My neighbour’s Liquidambar tells the story.
I have to have an operation; I enjoy great health, the only thing that has ever bugged me is tiredness from a mosquito-borne fever (Ross River Fever) which I caught years ago.
I spent last weekend in hospital and I was so grateful to come home. I have to have a ‘procedure’ on Wednesday – I really hope I don’t have to stay long.
I have an iPod, a book and a little recorder containing favourite music. we have bought glamorous new sleepwear, so I’m prepared.
I have a favourite book which I have read a few times over the years – it’s been a while, so I thought I would give it another airing.

I must have bought this copy in the 1960s. the author is Henry Handel Richardson (Ethel Florence Lindesay Richardson). It’s a wonderful saga and I can’t understand why it’s never been made into a film or miniseries, some of her books have been, ‘The Getting of Wisdom’ is one that comes to mind.
Needless to say, my mind hasn’t been on sewing although I have cut out a shirt, ready to sew when I’m released.
I shall be out as soon as possible.
This is a photograph of our winter garden…only a couple of deciduous trees.
Regards,
Will.
