I’ve been working on the first sewing machine cover, this type of sewing is outside my purview but it is working so far although I’ve only sewn the easy parts, assembling it will be the test.

I cut and measured the fabric, these are for the two sides.

Created a sandwich, my least favourite part of quilting – this is why I have a stack of quilts waiting to be finished (and I’m not very good at it either).

I marked both sides with a simple diaper pattern – not perfect but not too bad.
I’m attaching the trim to the bottom edge and the next piece will be a continuous piece to go up one side, over the top and down the other side – I may round the top of the sides so it will be possible to sew it all in one fell swoop.

I’m cutting and quilting the top/sides today – this is where it could go horribly wrong…if I never mention this cover again then you know I’ve failed. If this works, I have a few more to make – I suppose it will be easier after the first attempt.
I would rather be making clothes.
Regards,
Will.
